After graduating from Sydney University with an Arts/Law degree, Inara was accepted into the Opera Studio of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. During her studies, she performed in numerous recitals, in the opera "Dido and Aeneas" and sang the role of Ottavia in The Coronation of Poppea. She was a recipient of the Bud Brown Scholarship, and in her final year, won an Italian Government scholarship to attend master classes with Carlo Bergonzi in Siena, Italy.

Since graduation Inara has performed the following roles: Marguerite, Faust (Rockdale Opera); 15 year old girl, Lulu; Handmaiden, Turandot (The Australian Opera); Flora, La Traviata (Pocket Opera, San Francisco) and as Trampolina, in The Tall Poppeas’ production of Troppo Amore at the Darlinghurst Theatre and Melbourne Fringe Festival. She has also understudied Lady Ella, Patience (The Australian Opera); The Spirit, Dido & Aeneas, and in 2006, The Maid, Jenufa (Opera Australia). Inara has also appeared as a soloist in Los Angeles at an event marking the one year countdown to the Sydney 2000 Olympics, and for the Australian Consulate at the annual American-Australian Ball in Los Angeles. She has also performed in concert with the Los Angeles Classical Singers Association and the San Francisco Early Music Society. A performance highlight was appearing in the 2005 Sydney Festival with OzOpera, in the Sydney premiere performances of The Eternity Man by Jonathan Mills and Dorothy Porter.

Recordings include vocalist for the movie soundtrack "Mary" and solo recitals for 2MBS-FM.

Her many awards include Finalist of the Shell, Covent Garden Scholarship and National Lieder Society Competition.

Inara's versatility has seen her touring with the children's show Postman Pat (Childsplay Productions) playing Mrs. Goggins and Grannie Dryden, to being assistant director in productions of Dido and Aeneas (Pacific Opera) and Penelope (UNSW Opera). In 1998 she founded Opera West, a performance school dedicated to teaching classical and music theatre singers, the art of movement, stagecraft and role preparation.

She has studied voice with Ruth Falcon in New York and more recently with countertenor Andrew Dalton.

Inara is a regular performer with professional choral ensemble Cantillation, and with the Opera Australia Chorus. This year she joins the ensemble in the debut Sydney performances of Dead Man Walking at the State Theatre produced by Andrew McManus and Alexander Productions.

With female baroque vocal ensemble, The Tall Poppeas, Inara has performed in innovative concert programs throughout Sydney, and has toured to Perth, Melbourne, Hobart and Armidale. In December she performed in its program, Too Hot for Handel?, at Sydney’s Government House for the Historic Houses Trust "House Music" series.

Inara is the founder and Artistic Director of The Tall Poppeas.
